Kofa Foundation is a non-partisan, non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization registered in the U.S.A.  In 2014, when her husband Patrick Sawyer became the first American to die from the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) during his travel from Liberia to Nigeria for an ECOWAS conference, Decontee, suddenly a widow with three little daughters, founded Kofa Foundation and became the international voice of victims of Ebola everywhere.  Under her leadership and refusal to drown in grieve, the Kofa Foundation joined the quest to eradicate Ebola.

We also led a campaign to bring more awareness to the Ebola epidemic and reached out to individuals and families who had lost their loved ones both in the U.S and West Africa due to the virus. We currently sponsor children in three orphanages and two schools in Liberia as part of our commitment to never forget the children who were left behind.  Additional, we operate youth development programs to help provide youths from under-served communities with tools they need to empower themselves.
